A specialised generator solution for citrus-orchard frost-protection fans, developed from an on-site assessment and proven on the actual equipment.
The generators were required to power large orchard fans used to circulate air across citrus trees during cold conditions, helping protect the trees and fruit from frost damage. A generator previously rented for the application did not operate the fan in the way the customer required.
GenTech SA visited the site to assess the actual fan and its operating requirements, then built a 60 kVA FAW generator configured for the application. After the first unit was successfully tested with the equipment, three additional trailer-mounted 60 kVA generators were ordered and delivered for the same type of application in Barberton.
